to quote Oliver Twist, "Please sir, Can I have some more?" This was great! I loved the cat parts and the jokes at poor Richard's expense. But how did he become a cat in the first place and will it happen to him again? Please let me know. Curiosity and cats you understand. Thanks again many times over for sharing this.

Well, we haven't seen the last of Cat Sharpe yet and thanks for reading! This particular plot bunny is having more little baby plot bunnies.

Meeow...*g*

I love Sharpe bringing the General his catches - that was very sweet of him. :) And that Welly is the only one whom Sharpe will behave with. It's a lovely short story.

Awww.. thank you. And thanks again for the beta when the story was in still shambles.

Now... I have an anachronism (probably more) in there that I can't solve... and maybe you can. What the heck were "Non-Comms" known as before the 1900s? :P I have 2 RGJs (retired) trying to find out for me. Teehee.

They were merely 'rankers' - i.e. men in the ranks. Nothing special. or just 'men' or 'soldiers'.

NCO's. The 1811 Regulations says (and I quote directly): No Non-Commissioned Officer is on any account to be permitted to act as and Officer's Servant.

Ordinary soldiers were rank-and-file, or rankers.
