Found out today that Robert Jordan, most notably the author of the Wheel of Time series, passed away yesterday. Those who were more devoted fans than I and who were paying attention knew that he'd been ill for quite some time. Maybe I'll go back and try to get thru the series this time. I fell asleep 50 pages into the second book and never went ( Read more... )

Well, he did outline the whole bloody thing. Now it's just a question of whether his family will pursue completion and publication. But, crap, look at what Eric Van Lustbader has done with Ludlum's Bourne books. John Betancourt and Zelazny's Amber books. Diana Paxson and MZB's Avalon. And don't get me started about the Star Wars and Star Trek novel franchises. The material, the notes, there's plenty of existing stuff for his family and his publishers to choose to permit other authors, either newcomers or established writers, to play in the universe that Jordan created. All is not lost, my dear. Not yet, anyway.

::hugs:: Sokay, sis. We all get emo over certain things. Remember, I was inconsolable for days after the last episode of Buffy ran.

::hugs:: Hey, at least he outlined it, right down to how he wants it to end. Now it's just a question of whether his family will choose to allow some other author to fill in the gaps and finsih writing the book.
Yay for more art and writing! Eventually I'll get back over to dA and see what's new, mebbe eventually put up pics of this dress when I get it done, mebbe do something else I can post over there. I just can't seem to catch that muse lately... ::hugs:: love and miss my sis, too.

Perils of dealing with people, babe. They usually don't go away when you want them to. Good luck with the post.
Y'know, I have a reasonably-sized toolbox in my basement that's chock-full of beads, plus more, and I still haven't gotten around to making anything? I have projects people want, and a standing offer from a local shop to bring by anything I make for sale, but I just can't grab enough time to DO anything.
Oh, and just to make you cringe (I know it certainly does me), I'm having more and more trouble fighting off the incipient drawl. Again, perils of dealing with people, when you're an accent sponge. Somebody shoot me?
*hugs* love ya too, doll. Be good. ;)
