I never liked Taylor Swift because all I'd heard from her was the song "Love Story" which I despised completely. But after hearing her new song which really identifies with me (You Belong With Me) and this one (White Horse) which pretty much describes my view of men for the rest of my life I'm sure, I have much newfound respect for her ( Read more... )

You pound meat to tenderize it...stabbing it would just make holes in it.

haha I absolutely couldn't stand Pink or Kelly Clarkson because I didn't like their first songs released, but then I loved most of their stuff after that. Artists can be tricksy like that =p ...I guess it's better than a one hit wonder who has a great first song and everything else is terrible.

True. I wonder sometimes if the artists like Taylor Swift, Pink, etc, feel frustrated that they have so many songs that mean to much to them about sensitive, personal topics, with plenty of good messages they long to get across to people, but all their hits are the prepy, sappy, or party songs. It would definately frustrate me.

Well, at least Taylor Swift writes all of her own songs (Pink may, too, doubt Kelly Clarkson does but not sure) so what seems sappy to us may still be really meaningful to them. And I'm sure the "party" songs are much more fun to perform live.
