Election day tomorrow!

Remember, Americans - if you don't vote, you've got no right to bitch if the guy you dislike more gets elected.
Google has a nifty maplet to tell you where your polling place is.

Although I AM voting.... celticshrew November 3 2008, 23:19:15 UTC
...the right to vote also gives me the right to choose NOT to vote, if I have found none of the candidates acceptable.

True, but not-voting only really makes sense if you find the candidates equally horrible (or equally fabulous, if at some point there are ever two /good/ candidates running for president). I have a problem with people who have actual opinions about the candidates, don't vote, and then bitch when the candidate they wanted loses (having been on a college campus in 2004, I heard a /lot/ of bitching from non-voting young liberals).

I'm with you on that, though I've heard both non-voting liberals and the "I'm going to Vote My Party, because That's What We So." republicans both in 2000 and 2004.

Not harming stupid people makes me feel old.

NOT TRUE! I can bitch about the President-not-of-my-choice if the absentee ballot system fails--WHICH IT DID, of course! ARGH! DDDDDX

Very true! You have every right to bitch because you tried to vote but the system didn't work as advertised. I voted absentee because I wasn't sure when or where I'd be moving, but the system is less swamped in Maryland, or maybe not-being-abroad helped.

The other problematic issue is the long lines at places with too few booths. Rachel Maddow did a segment on how that was essentially a new form of poll tax, because a lot of people flat out can't afford to take 6 or 8 hours out of their work day to vote.

Are you serious?! That's disgraceful!

Errr... What is disgraceful, of course, is the part about the long wait to vote--not the part about her doing a segment on it.... ^^' *sighs* It's late over here; forgive me. XD
