Starplanet is a whole other world. The people on it are starchildren, made out of the little bits of left over light from the beginning of everything.(In the beginning there was light). They move quietly about their planet, living harmoniously. No conflict, no war, no sorrow. When starchildren die their light flows into the air and brings forth another starchild. Starchildren are ageless, neither youthful nor withered. Death does not live on Starplanet.
However there is a catch to this peaceful existence: an age’s distance away from Starplanet lies earth, home to humans, home to anger and spite and bloody red death. This anguish is the perfect equilibrator - the hurt on earth sits on a scale with the tranquillity of Starplanet. As long as this balance of good and evil on the two planets are maintained, the existence of both shall be everlasting. For Crocea and her starchild friends, nothing could be simpler.
But a war is coming. Consilius, the councillor of Starplanet, sees the signs swirling in the eternal dusts that surround earth. Natural disasters coupled with human misdemeanour threaten to bring about the mythical apocalypse that would annihilate Starplanet. In order to save their home, Crocea and her friends determine to reach earth and neutralise those who seek to bring about anarchy and the destruction of the planet. But in doing so, they must undertake human form - experience human emotion for the first time. With love, hatred and apathy now part of their conscious beings, the journeys of the friends are jeopardised. They become preoccupied with their new way of life, whilst desperately seeking for a way to salvage the remnants of their home as the imbalance between the planets’ spheres increases with devastating results. Locked in a race against time, with the fate of what was once her home resting in her hands, Crocea faces horrors she never dreamed of, experiences loss, love, sacrifice, and ultimately, the terror of choice.
