The Story of Jacob

I so rarely have time for anything these days. Like Josh, Jacob requires almost constant nursing. I have a feeling this is more about my milk supply than about the baby's needs, but it still makes me mental. I sit on the couch and watch The Real World almost all day long. That is so special that Jacob's breathing improved when you held him!

I hope you are not too disappointed, I have rarely heard of a birth plan that is followed 100%....it's more like 10 to 50% I often think that these plans just set you up to feel like you have failed...when in fact things just turned out differently. There are so many variables that can happen and you have no control over Every women's birth experience is unique and can't be predicted. You prepared well for this birth, more then the average women and that is one thing that was in your control...preparation! I bet you prevented a C section with your knowledge and prep!

And now you have a precious little baby...enjoy him while you can...even the non stop nursing. Claire was like that....I watched a lot of TV while I nursed her...early Oprah shows in fact. I still roll my eyes at that expression "sleeps like a baby" because Claire did not sleep much at all!

Hang in there and I hope Joshua enjoys being a big brother!

so excited to read your story mare, thank you for sharing!! the part about his breathing going back to normal when he was placed in your arms made me smile :) skin to skin is an AMAZING thing, its probably my most favorite part of births because of all the amazing benefits (regulate blood sugars, breathing etc). i was in a c-section once and mom wasn't able to go skin to skin with babe because of a hemorrhage, so we had dad strip down from the waist up and hold his little guy while he sat next to his wife, waiting for her to come out of her after-CS/PPH-state ( ... )
