Finally, this was the moment they had been waiting for. Mio nodded to Azusa, who nodded to Yui, who nodded to Ritsu, who nodded to Mugi. Seemed everyone was in position.
“And now, a performance from our school’s very own After School Tea Time, Fuwafuwa Time!”
The crowd cheered as the curtains went out. The countdown was left to Ritsu who hit her drumsticks together.
“One, two...”
Yui and Azusa started to play, but… something about it seemed off. Sure, the pig-tailed girl was mainly playing back up guitar, but something about their combination seemed, not right. Well, now wasn’t the time to worry about it since the other three joined in at their respective times.
“Ah kami-sami onegai…” As Mio sung, she noticed something was strange about Yui’s guitar playing. She tried to eye Ritsu who was in the middle of her solo. The drummer shrugged. She heard it too, but had no idea what was making it sound different from all the other times they played together.
Ritsu shot a glance over Mugi who was just as confused as the others. Yui’s back up singing was fine. No one had any doubts about that, but… everyone was sure she was hitting the right notes when it came to playing her guitar. It was almost like as if she wasn’t playing at all.
“Fuwafuwa time!” As the song finished, the girls bowed. Once the curtain fell, everyone approached Yui.
“What… happened?” Mugi asked.
But that didn’t seem to produce an answer since Yui was just as confused as the others. This only caused Mugi, Ritsu, and Mio to look at each other.
“Um maybe Geetar isn’t feeling well? Could that be why Geetar wasn’t as loud? Oh no, what if he has a sore throat?!” Yui hugged her guitar. The others sighed.
“Rest assured. Sore throats aren’t what guitars can get,” Ritsu said as she groaned.
Azusa found herself wandering around stage. Yui caught note of this.
“What is it Azunyan?”
“I think I found the problem.”
She held a cord in her hand. All of the girls except Yui sighed. Seemed she didn’t get it since it was a ‘Yui’ type thing to do.
Yui never plugged her guitar into the amp.
