While I can see that it's frustrating - I've got to say that I think it's wonderful. No one can possibly do everything they want to do, but if you do it one at a time, then you get to try lots of neat things out. This way in the future if she chooses to go back to one of these things, she'll have an inkling of what it entails - and she'll also be able to jump into new things! Since I'm the sort of person who has lots of interests, but very little courage to get me out there, I think you're doing the very best thing to teach someone how to have both. Kudos!

Thanks! I think the frustrating thing is dealing with her when she fights going and her being unappreciative of the effort (and expense) that we go through. But...that's pretty normal kid behavior, too. She did thank me tonight after the concert which was a very positive experience for her.
You're right - it's not a big deal. It really is part of who she is in so many ways. I was telling her the other day how that now she's getting older, there are even more things she can try. The university has summer science camps, cooking classes, etc. for older elementary aged kids.
FWIW, she sounds a lot like I was at that age. By that time, I'd had tap, ballet, gymnastics, ice skating, piano/organ lessons, basketball, softball, and Brownies. At some point over the next 4-6 years, I also tried horseback riding, flute, and choir. My parents had the same rule that you do - I had to finish anything I started, but I could opt to not sign up again. Looking back now, I am so glad for the opportunities my parents gave me to try different things, while not forcing me to carry on with anything I didn't have a passion for.
