Hey sports fans...

I know some of you lot are Packers fans, so I found this tidbit interesting:

As quarterback Michael Vick continues to look for a job and here teams turn him away, one team has not quite ruled out the possibility of signing him yet. That team is the Green Bay Packers. Team GM Ted Thompson has experience dealing with quarterback controversies. He has ( Read more... )

Heh... Well, I give a shit about -actual- football. ;)

But seriously, the same could be said about what we're into... so, yeah, I just found it interesting, considering the individual.

Now if only RPG and comics people would do dogfighting, THEN we'd have something to talk about. What? *ducks*

All the RPG people I knew that were into blood sports did cockfighting.

Actually, I'm serious. The wife of my DM in college came from a family that did those legally. Looked through some cockfighting equipment catalogs. Weird stuff.

That's mighty fucked up... but RPG scenes have some serious freaks and weirdos, so I'm not all that surprised, sadly.

A few, I'm sure. At yet Pete Rose is still not allowed into the Hall of Fame.

I want to know how Krass feels about this due to his love for Green bay but also his hatred for animal abuse.

Exactly. My first thought on this was of him and his burning hatred of Vick.

Don't really care. I might care about Washington (DC) hiring back felons, but not the entertainment industry. In the end, the teams will just balance how much money they think he will bring in versus how much he will cost them and then once the figure is in the black and better than somebody else's, he'll get hired.

I had a bunch of other stuff written about felonies, doing time, etc but LJ ate my post.

Doh! Damned LJ.

I don't really care about football, but since Vick was hailed as a social icon, I think the NFL teams shouldn't even consider hiring him. Just like any other business decision with a high public profile is involved, really.

Otherwise, he did his time, time to move on. Maybe he'll make a nice accountant.

It just goes to show that sports figures shouldn't be held as role models, at least not for the sole fact of being a sports figure.

Oh, I agree. Still happens, though.
