As expected...

Ayu's acting range extends from opening her eyes wide to opening her eyes wider.  And considering they hired a big-name director for "glitter", the PV is like Film Making 101, with the 'slow walk' in the opening scene, and the numerous gratuitous freeze shots.  I liked the sequence where she's filming in the crystal cave ... now that would've made ( Read more... )

I was pretty disappointed, too. They could've done a much better job at what this PV was supposed to do--show the glamorous side of the superstar life and act as a counterweight to "fated," which, predictably, will be "depressing." The pastiche approach was worthy of a hack and should've been done away with. They should've shot more new footage--things like photo shoots, concerts, PV shoots--and weave the "forbidden love" story of the film in a bit more subtly.

And as I mentioned before, the whole thing was too dark. Hopefully this means it'll fit "fated" better... though I'm not expecting that PV to be any good either.

I'm not sure what you mean by too dark, you mean just the lighting and colour scheme? I didn't notice it particularly. Maybe she learned her lesson from the "Born to be" PV too well.

ugh, I just watched it again. The other thing that really annoyed me was the 360 degree shot of the kiss. It's just one cliché after another. I also rolled my eyes at the "save Ayu from the falling light fixture!" part. It would've been cool if they'd integrated her real promo activities into the plot, like filming the "part of Me" PV or her on tour ... it was filmed during the "Tour of Secret" after all, it would've been easy. but no.

Yeah the color scheme is dark. It felt like everything's indoors or at night.

Honestly a behind the scenes of the Tour of Secret would've been a wonderful PV for "glitter"! Then "fated" could've had all the tabloid headlines of Ayu's trip to Hong Kong.
