This reminds me of a GAP ad. Wait a minute...

this *is* a 4-minute GAP ad!  Otherwise masquerading as Yuna Ito's eminently watchable new PV, "Koi wa Groovy x2".  I'm used to commercial tie-ins and product placement, but this takes it to a whole other level.  Watching this, I realize how much I miss that series of white soundstage GAP ads from ten years ago, with the different themes, like soul ( Read more... )

Definitely not what I expect from her, but you know J-poppers, they'll try anything once, bless their hearts.

I was going to post asking you your opinion on capsule's latest even though I know you're not a fan. At the very least you must be looking forward to next week and Amigo's "Supreme Show" right?

I didn't think you knew anything about Yuna, you've never mentioned her before. The whole "na-na-na" chorus is totally stuck in my head.

I wasn't aware capsule released something new, but I just checked out JUMPER on Youtube. It's different than his usual, the strong bass being the most obvious thing. But it's so overblown at 7 minutes! I actually only like the parts with the female vocals, starting at 1:50, and excluding the cacophony that comes back in from 2:50 to about 3:50. He really needs to learn to edit.

I'm definitely keen on Ami's new album, and hoping it's as good as DOLCE. I only recently turned on to the charms of "climb up to the TOP" ... that was a really strong single, and seems to form the backbone of the album, so that's a good sign.

I know of Yuna but haven't listened to much of her stuff. I know she did some Reira stuff for the NANA movie but don't know what exactly her "home" genre is. R&B? In that case, like with Miliyah, I guess I can see a jump to disco not being totally beyond the pale ( ... )

Yuna's more generic pop, with ballads and generally lame bubblegum pop. KwGx2 is much slicker and more dancey than her usual.

I lurve the SMM remix! The merging with the beat from Kylie's "Love at first sight" is masterful, and I love the extra verse they added in. Was it omitted from the original cut, I wonder. Only 2 more days!

I'm also addicted to Perfume's "Dream Fighter" right now, which is so much better than "love the world". This one does deserve to go #1.
