I often read of these hipster librarian creatures but I've yet to meet one working in the real world.
I'm not cool enough to be a hipster so I suspect we would repel e/o anyway. Probably fun to hang out with if you need a group to go to a bar with (apparently to have drinks labeled in Dewey). Seems unrealistic when I consider the population we serve here in FL. I'm sure the grannies would love me with blue hair and piercings.
P.S. Librarians are so touchy about the issue of being stereotyped. I think we are afraid someone will notice that there might be some truth to the kind of personality drawn to working in a library... Librarians are all extremely different types of people in experience and interests but I do think many of us share that desire to order and classify -- and put everything in the right place. ;)

Librarians are all extremely different types of people in experience and interests but I do think many of us share that desire to order and classify -- and put everything in the right place. ;)
