Forgive me for discussing lame current events.

First, I want to make it clear that I do know that other things, more important things, happening in the world. I am just confused. I know the world is really messed up right now, but it seems like the world is always messed up! It is a frustrating place to be, isn't it? So I try not to discuss current events because this is a happy fun place ( Read more... )

Hi! I found you via friendsfriend and i just wanted to say I share the same confusion with you as to the fuss on Miley Cyrus' photo shoot.

Compared to what Britney Spears did for Rolling Stones this is nothing. Also, I found that photo to be tasteful and pretty but not sexual in nature. People just like to gripe, is my opinion.

Also, I too have learned the art of changing clothing in a parking lot. It is challenging yes. :D

I'd say if her parents and she want her to be the Disney darling, this was probably a piss poor choice to make; Miley Cyrus' father has been in the business long enough to know people are cruel, and people are also stupid enough to make assumptions based on one photograph rather than who a person is. Plus, Disney is quick to turn on their fallen baby starlets, and if Hannah Montana loses money over this, Disney will stomp Miley into a sticky paste, which is pathetic.

As for the photo itself, it didn't phase me, but I also wasn't thinking, "Cool, naked little girl!" I'm sure there will a few disturbed individuals out there who will think it, though. There's probably more skin exposed in high schools across America on a daily basis if people really want to complain; yesterday I saw a girl get off the bus and take off her jacket, and I have to admit I was pretty grossed out to realize I could see her pubic hair hanging out over the top of her low-ride jeans. Now, that my friend, is tacky and nasty.

In comparison to what that girl from Disney's High School Musical did, and kept her job, this is nothing. That was scary and perverted and didn't get half of the coverage this is getting. She did pose nude, for a man, and she was underage. Yeah they were private photos, but that was really a bad choice and legal action should have taken place. It was actual child porn by most definitions. Instead she and Disney apologized and that was that.

Ewwwww! Tacky and nasty is an understatement. Ewwww!

I must be the only one that doesn't find that photo pretty or charming or interesting. What I find odd is that smear of red lipstick. It comes across as a little Lolita-ish to me.

That's why I am confused - its not pretty or charming or interesting. So the only thing that I find interesting about it is that people are finding it interesting and like all the same outcry - like just the same review and outcry over and over again where ever I turned last night. So being the communication girl, how people look at pictures and in turn any media is interesting to me. It's not even good Lolita! That's why when I first saw it I was like "meh" but then a few hours later its everywhere I turn even on like blogs that shouldn't be talking about it. So I did look at the picture and tried to describe why it was just whatever to me. Plus I couldn't sleep in general.

I did comment on several blogs and I think my best comment was that parents should talk to their children and stop worrying about the perverts masturbating. It's all a fear of the unknown amount of masturbation, right?
