I went to see my doctor because I haven't been in a year. Which is amazing because it seems like I use to be in every other month for many years. I am doing fine with meds and feeling great! My blood pressure is awesome. Yay me! Had a good chat with my doctor and got refills on drugs and all that fun stuff. With some of the meds I take I need ( Read more... )

Why wouldn't they let you close your eyes? I know that at the very least I have to look away, which is like closing your eyes. Do people actually like to watch blood being drawn? Glad you are okay :)

I like to watch, and I even learned how to do it at home because I have piss-poor veins. I've snapped a doctors and nurses and told them, "Oh for hells sake, let me do it!" Not a one of them appreciates the offer.

I usually look away and stare at one of the posters they put up for little kids. But on my second go around I closed my eyes, but they were worried I was fainting. I think. Maybe they were just evil.

Maybe I don't do well getting blood drawn now because I know longer get a Snoopy band-aid?

Veins that hide and evade are evil. I always wondered if it was because I am a "big" girl, but my tiny Grandmother is the same way. We have matching direct line scars!

My sister's veins hide too, and she's super tiny!

Weird, but I barely bruised. I figured that would be nasty bruises, but so far not much is showing up. Doing fine and dandy, but been working.

You'll appreciate this! I got Mom Hello Kitty car mats for Mother's Day. Tee hee!

Next time you can just say, "I puked the last time they tried to withdraw blood and almost fainted. Could I have a pro, please?"

Oh, and this is not a good story to re-read a week before one's own doctor's appointment.
