Player Name: Floogy
Character Name: Akemi Takenaka, codename “Tsurugi” (For listing purposes, please use Tsurugi)
Canon: Yakuza Theatre

Background:

Akemi Takenaka is the daughter of two fairly important executives of the Syndicate. Despite her parents' work, she lived a fairly normal life in Japan. She went to school, had friends, and was even looked up to. She definitely had a bright future ahead of her, having made school president during her senior year in high school. On top of that, she was the captain of the Kendo club.

However, a recent blood test had concluded that she was a viable subject for the Syndicate's Enhancement project. Considering her parents, however, it wouldn't be a simple task to get her to willingly submit to the project. However, one of the higher ups drew up a simple enough plan...

As Akemi began to walk home from school, she was gunned down in a drive by shooting. The Syndicate were quick to blame it on the Yakuza and, her parents not wishing to lose their daughter, were coaxed into allowing her body to be used for the project.

Enhanced humans are rare, even today, but the standard procedure included brainwashing the subject. For obvious reasons, this step had to be skipped. Akemi suffered some trauma, however, and had to undergo some psychiatric treatment. But even when she finally made a full recovery, her life was... basically ruined. She was legally pronounced dead, making her plans to attend college null and void.

All she had in her future now was the Syndicate, which she hadn't even realized had staged her death. Akemi Takenaka's normal life was gone. While she still goes by that name, she usually refers to herself by her new codename: Tsurugi.

So she took up the training with the Syndicate, pushing herself to learn the new limits of her body... so that she could take down the Yakuza that had allegedly ruined her life. Unlike most of the other that were enhanced and brainwashed, however, she proved herself to be a capable squad leader.

It was only recently that she was finally allowed to take to the field, when the Syndicate finally decided to make another move against the Hagino-gumi. The plan was to set up a false meeting under the guise of people interested in dealing with the Yakuza, in an attempt to draw out the leader so they could behead the organization. However, the Hagino-gumi caught wind of the fact that the Syndicate's interest in continuing their little battle, and organized a decoy. To make it appear that their attempt to throw them off worked, they sent Tsurugi along with Tsume, another enhanced, to lead a squad of soldiers to take on the decoy while another group was sent to deal with the leader.

However, the Hagino-gumi had gained unexpected reinforcements. While Tsurugi accomplished her mission in keeping the decoys busy, the leader managed to escape the trap alive.

Setting Information: Covered by Kazumi Hagino's profile.

Portal Location: In a small convenience store near her home.

Personality:

The face of Tsurugi that most people would see is that of a stoic individual. She's often rather serious in whatever it is she does, whether it's leading a squad of soldiers or attempting to cook. Even in casual conversation, most of the time, she's likely to speak with a serious demeanor. If she's talking with her parents or people she's somewhat close to, though, she will allow herself to relax.

If there's one word that had to be used to describe her, it would be 'dedicated'. If she puts her mind to something, she will do whatever she has to in order to ensure that the task is accomplished. She always feels that she needs to improve her fighting ability. No matter how much she improves in something, she will never be completely satisfied. On that note... her cooking is rather terrible and she's prone to cutting herself if she's chopping up something, but she'll keep trying for awhile until it's gone on too long and relying on something or somebody else for the meal.

Tsurugi is a capable leader of sorts, able to issue orders and lead a squad effectively. In the heat of battle she's able to make snap decisions to make the most of a situation. She can even handle administrative work fairly easily, given her experience as the student body president and some of the training given to her by the Syndicate. However, she has a bit of a hard time dealing with insubordination. She's confrontational about such actions and, if they argue back, might begin to lose her temper. However, she will eventually take it to a higher authority if it continues.

Though Tsurugi acknowledges the (made up) story that the Yakuza were responsible for her death, she usually doesn't let it cloud her judgment. She harbors a hatred towards them, yes, but more or less it is directed towards whomever actually gunned her down and the person that gave the order. That doesn't mean she won't view any of the Yakuza affiliation with some amount of disdain, however.

Despite all these personality attributes, Tsurugi is still a girl at heart. She has a weakness towards 'cute' things, such as plushies or other oddities. She certainly enjoys eating sweet foods, and is actually a bit sensitive concerning certain topics. Being called masculine or manly might get an odd reaction out of her, depending on the circumstances of the name calling. She's a little guarded about that side of herself, however, and anybody who blatantly points it out or catches her in the middle of anything relating to this will most likely result in a comedic situation with flailing and denials unless they're more subtle and empathetic about it.

Reason for Joining: Learning about the state of the multiverse, she isn't the type to just leave something like that alone if she can help. At the same time, once she learns that the Yakuza has a couple of people there, she'll have another reason in making sure they don't utilize CO's resources further against the Syndicate.

Position Desired: Enforcer. She more or less has had officer training before taking on her first assignment with the Syndicate.

Point in Canon: A week or two after the background described.
