I think the thing about Chuck and Sarah at the end of season 2, though, was that even though they were clearly madly in love with each other, they both need to do some growing up before they could be in a really functional relationship -- and I think Sarah wanting to run away really shows that.
My guess as to why Chuck didn't give the Three Words speech at the train station is that it would've been too hard, and if she could've managed to talk him out of his real reason, he would've gotten on the train. Still. It made me so sad!
