I have no idea why I've never thought about Sam being in danger of sexual assault. Other than SG-1 is my happy place, and the bad stuff that happens onscreen is plenty bad enough without adding that extra layer. In my mind, where SG-1 is in a perfect universe, if sexual assault is happening to any of them, it's happening to all of them. Especially if B'aal is in the equation.
I've been thinking about your previous post, and I quizzed my kid (newly 18) on how she'd react to being approached by the OSBP folks. I'm happy to report she has healthy boundaries, that her reaction to being asked varies with the context, and that her answer 99.9% of the time would still be "no."
SG-1 is my happy place, too, and I very consciously avoid thinking about a lot of the issues that (if it were a real situation, however implausible that might be) it would contain. Mostly because -- hey. Pretendy funtime games. I don't want to deal with all of those Issues in my pretendy funtime games, so I let it go.
But sometimes it can be really interesting to dig into them and say something about them, you know? Uncomfortable, but interesting.
Thank you. (And I am glad your daughter is awesome. *g*)
