I love this so much. I love it in the context of all the conversations that have been going on this week, yes, but I also love it to pieces for its own sake, which just makes it so much better. I love seeing this intimacy from Cammie and Sam; I always saw it lingering around bits and pieces of the Cammieverse, and it always made so much sense (even if I get the impression that Cammie's more willing to give pieces of herself than Sam does -- I think it's easier for Cammie than for Sam, but I love that Cammie would accept that about Sam and work with it instead of resenting it), and I always wanted to see more of it, and here it isSo I really just love this so much -- this piece of their connection, no less important than the connections everywhere else in this 'verse, and it's wonderful having it show up front-and-center. It's lovely. And the last three paragraphs are just wonderful -- observations about Sam that make so much sense for her, the feelings in the next-to-last paragraph that are so familiar. (And it also makes me ( ... )

Thank you! I love Sam and Cammie's relationship so much; they might not always understand each other, but man, they love each other a lot.

And yeah, I do feel sorry for Sam. There's backup, and then there's backup from people who share the visceral understanding of why you need the backup, and that's one of the reasons why I was so happy to see Sam and Vala's relationship being played the way it was, instead of the Hollywood sterotype of the catty/bitchy female interaction.

This made me cry, but in a good way. I don't really have anything more coherent to say. This was just, amazing.

Four out of five. Ay-ay-ay. That made my heart hurt.

There are indeed think tanks in MA (hurrah!), but Cammie is a state in and of her royal feline self.

I thought and thought and thought about what the statistics would actually be, and I think that the "armed and trained and aware and vigilant" thing wouldn't override the fact that so many of the societies the teams would be encountering are built on the same "women are property" notions that have permeated Earth-human culture for so long, because they were taken from those cultures, you know?

I like escapism in my silly sf tv shows, and I'm glad they backed away from exploring the rape themes that were so prevalent in S1 (both overtly and more "Goa'uld host as..." type analogies), but sometimes, you get the urge to engage...

And yes, Cammie is a force of mighty nations all by herself. *g* Thank you!

Yeah, like I said to idhren24, I think that the fact that they're dealing with cultures that came out of Earth-history cultures, cultures where the women-as-property notion are pretty firmly set, would make that a realistic statistic. I'm not discountin that cultures can evolve (after all, ours has ... not as far as we'd like, but it has), but still.

And thank you right back.

Oh, this is lovely. So lovely. I just adore the way that they interact here, and the thought-patterns and definitely also the imagery.

(I need no more new fandoms. and yet I suspect I'm going to have to get and watch SG-1.)

Thank you!

(Watching SG-1 can be rage-inducing in places, becuase it's definitely a show where the fandom is sometimes better than the show, but I still think it's a good show and worth the watching.)
