Sometimes I think that I should use this journal as a safe space to air out problems more often. Then I remember that one of my issues is not talking about my issues. Ah well.
Name a fandom and I'll give you some unpopular opinions about it.
I don't pay enough attention to fandom to know what is unpopular, these days.

+ I don't think Tsukiko was Rikuou's lover. This is neither a popular or unpopular idea in fandom because the girls are mostly ignored, but as I see it Rikuou shuts off from everything that reminds him of Tsukiko, so he wouldn't be a flirt and a tease if he'd ever acted that way around her.
+ Speaking of flirting, True Love is never going to turn Rikuou or Kazahaya into sweet, gentle people. I do think they have the potential to get together, but they'd bitch every step of the way. And enjoy it.
+ I don't think Kakei and/or Saiga sees either of the boys sexually at all. They just enjoy mocking them ( ... )

+ I think that Yami suffers very badly from having characters that typify all the tropes of a BL game, which is why so few people manage to enjoy all of the main cast. This is true of a lot of pop culture series and probably wouldn't bother me so much if I hadn't seen some major schisming go down back in the day.
+ The series should have ended at volume 8. I'm sorry, I know the shiki are fun, hot, and badass and the snake rape is... well, it's the snake rape! But it just doesn't validate trying to kick another climax or two out of the story for me.
+ On a similar note, I think the anime tells a much better story than the manga. I can't say I wish the manga followed the same lines, because I do love some of the sidearcs and all the extra character development. And the cast is definitely better rounded in the books. But as a storyline, it falls flat on its face a LOT. I really respect whoever sat down and turned it into thirteen tight episodes.
+ Pretty much everything seriously wrong with the books ( ... )

That particular brand of incest (ie, one that is not an abuse of trust) is one of my bulletproof kinks. I guess I don't mention that much.

Also you could totally do the other Yami characters :Db?

+ I don't ship Fakir and Mytho in the slightest, and I don't think Fakir ever considered it. Rue, however, totally thought he was macking at some point.
+ I don't think Fakir will ever try to make Ahiru human again, even though they both want her to be. Their commitment to no more stories is too strong.
+ I have heard fandom doesn't like Rue, and is dissatisfied with her place in the story? I don't understand this at all. She was a pawn, but she truly loved Mytho and he saved her.
+ ...I don't understand the amvs.
OK, now pick a Yami character :|

+ Yoi-te is not stupid, and he is not naive. He filters very heavily, and some of that is because his senses are failing, but some of it is because he doesn't want to connect. But under that he's got a perfectly good mind. He doesn't speak or think like a child. His thought process isn't incomplete.

+ I don't know what the anime did to the plot but I did not like it.
WHAT ELSE DO PEOPLE THINK ABOUT THE SERIES?
