screw winter.

Mags, Lindsay, and I took a day trip up north to Brittany to visit Rennes, the region's capital. Rennes is north of Nantes, so naturally, it was SUPERCOLD there. Goodness. In fact, it was so cold that it was actually snowing - big fatty snowflakes that actually stuck to the roads! It was so beautiful to see and it put all of us in a euphoric ( Read more... )

I KNOW about Robbie Williams ... when I first got here, he was constantly on TV and the music stations kept doing 2-day marathons of Robbie documentaries and videos. I seriously thought he had died or something and they were commemorating him.

But no, he was just releasing a new record.

Responding to this super late, but nonetheless ...

I don't understand why people find him so hot. Honestly, I don't think there is much to look at, lol. but, I won't lie - I enjoy his songs. I think it's because I feel like I have to; I'm in Europe, and this is what is popular in Europe now, lol.

Ah ... well I've managed to completely er, isolate? myself from European music while I've been here. Well, not completely. I'd say I've given some of the pop acts I thought I'd like a chance -- Sugababes, Girls Aloud ... but I just haven't been able to get into them. Although this Simon Webb guy's pretty cute and I recognize the Westlife songs hahaha. But my heart lies with the American stuff -- the hot girls of Pussycat Dolls, although their music often leaves something to be desired.

I think it's mostly because I'm antisocial and don't watch TV here cuz it's in the living room hahaha.

Thank you for being the only person to give me an opinion of where to go!

And speaking of Amsterdam, I totally booked tickets for it two days ago, :)

Yeah, what is that about Robbie Williams? When I was over there he was one of the biggest names in pop music, and you couldn't get away from him! But here hardly anybody mentions him. I don't even think I've heard his songs on the radio here.

Man, don't get me started on the cold. We got almost half-a-foot of snow yesterday! Everything looks really pretty though, and it's actually a manageable temperature now (well, relatively), so maybe I shouldn't complain too much.

I don't remember the name of his single, but he had a popular one hit wonder in the US back in like 1999 or 1998? I want to say it's called "Millenium" or "Bittersweet Symphany" - either one of those two songs, haha.

It is snowing EVERYWHERE in the States, it seems like! Or at least in WA and Minnesota, lol. I think you're finally becoming used to the weather in Minnesota, :)

Thanks, Nicola! It's good to see you back on here these days; I had missed reading you. I can't believe it's been over a month since I last saw you, lol. Anyway, about Robbie Williams, its just so funny how popular he is ... I think people have completely forgotten about him in the States, hahaha.
