A cry of rage.

Boots striking stone at a fast pace.

Kahlan's eyes widened as she covered herself, sitting up slowly on the large bed in her private chambers; the doors flew open violently, striking the walls.

Cara marched in with Richard, the shorter of the two shaking with unrestrained rage.

"What is it?" She would scold them later for entering without permission - they were in Aydindril now, rules had to be followed.

"Someone. Has. Stolen. My. Agiels."

Richard crossed his arms over his chest, visibly angry, "as well as the Sword of Truth." He nodded towards the stand near her bed, "and it would appear your daggers have been taken."

She was out of bed in an instant.

Modesty be damned.

The thief would pay.

--

"Just get two new daggers from the blacksmith. He'll make them better than the ones you had. Let Cara and Richard quest for their weapons." Dennee begged as her sister mounted the white steed, gripping the reigns firmly. Kahlan was not one for gilded cages, it was not a misplaced fear that her sister would be swayed from duty this time.

Kahlan pursed her lips, adjusting herself with practiced ease. "The Seeker cannot travel without his Confessor, you know this - and I am not leaving Cara's life in Richard's hands. As capable as he is, it is my duty to protect my mate."

Dennee looked away, still disgusted that her sister had chosen to lay with the monster of a woman who murdered her.

The thing that had led to the near extinction of Confessors.

Mord'Sith.

They were disgusting creatures.

Cara mounted her own horse after double checking Kahlan's saddle, bow slung across her leather-clad back. Even though Denna's offer to break in a new pair of Agiels had been exceptionally tempting, the recovery time required afterwards would not do.

And of course Kahlan would not approve; she was open to many things but having Cara trained and rebroken for the sake of a pair of Agiels was definitely not one of those many, many things.

The People's Palace

"Never again." Richard groaned, leaning forward to alleviate the numbness of his backside; servants rushed about the courtyard, helping their Lord Rahl and the Mother Confessor from their noble steeds.

They knew offering to help a Mord'Sith off of a horse would only lead to the dungeons.

-

Kahlan cocked her head to the side, examining the overly suggestive paintings on stone walls. "Is that even possible?" She glanced curiously at her lover who's eyes were scanning the wall with a fond smile plastered upon her lips.

"Yes."

"And we have to do that to..."

"Get the next clue..." Richard grinned.

"Yes."

He rubbed his hands together and stood in the corner, mimicking the image of Lord Rahl watching two Mord'Sith.

He loved this quest.

Tamarang

Richard pouted as he braced himself against the wall, he didn't like this quest anymore - especially not with the way Cara was chuckling behind him. "Would you like the honors?"

"No, no, I think I'll watch." Kahlan giggled.

Giggled.

Evil, cruel woman.

The things he had to do to get his weapon back.

Hartland

Cara pouted as she sat in the corner in the cave, watching as Richard and Kahlan worked together like a well oiled machine. The quests had a nasty habit of just appearing out of nowhere after the deed was done but not before.

She crossed her arms over her chest and tapped her boot on the cave floor - she did not approve.

Stowcroft

Kahlan clutched the clue as she brushed her fingers through Cara's hair, reading over it while Richard slept - passed out from strenuous activities he was clearly not used to. Her Mord'Sith stretched a little, turning to cuddle further into Kahlan's side.

"Brennidon."

"Hmm?"

"We're going to Brennidon next."

"Mmm."

Kahlan closed her eyes and leaned down to kiss the side of Cara's head.

Brennidon

Richard grimaced and groped above his head for the next clue, he had a feeling Cara and Kahlan had broken his baby maker.

Both women were curled up on either side of him, heads resting on his chest.

His eyes scanned the note written in the familiar, feminine scrawl he had become accustomed to seeing.

A vulgar word slipped from his lips.

Aydindril

The end of their quest resulted in all three of them curled up in the Mother Confessor's large bed, two occupants clutching their weapons happily to their chests. Cara let out a soft whine of protest when she nuzzled the tips of her Agiel's, bruising her nose.

Richard had already learned his lesson - snuggle the sword with its scabbard on.

Kahlan was merely content to lay in the middle and snuggle both of her champions.

A clue appeared above their heads and Richard nearly roared - Kahlan snatched it from the air before it could be destroyed.

Her eyes narrowed.

"Shota."
