ode to oz

The date of my touch-down in the US has been moved from december 1 to december 13. Needed more time. And beach. Screw having a place to live. I wish I could take the Australians back with me . . . I've grown fond of being the foreigner, she whose accent draws comparisons to Cleetus the Slack-jawed Yokel and imitations of variable charm, the ( Read more... )

I'm sure I'm not alone in being slightly saddened by this news, but I can't blame you. Weighing the warm beaches of Australia against the frigid highways of South Carolina is like weighing a magical golden sceptre against a pile of dog shit. Besides, Ayshe can handle the finding a place to live thing no prob.

Hope your extended stay proves to be the most enjoyable part of the trip.

You are a good friend.

Funny you should say that, as soon as I decided to stay longer the warm beaches of Australia became more . . . cold and soggy. It never rains here and it's been raining like an entire week. But this does not matter much, however, as the landlady has lent me her car and I have spent this week endangering the lives of all I know as I figure out how to drive on the left side of the road.

I have a few partly-written letters to you, maybe if I tape them all together they will produce a whole. See you soon!!

oh... all that rain? yeah, that's my fault.
I cursed Australian whether to spite you for staying there.

I must be some kind of god?

enjoy!

Catastrophic, indeed.

I am undecided as to when I will be in Rock Hill. I know I'll need to make my way up there sometime between dec 13 and jan 10. If we do not cross paths there will no doubt be other times.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

that is the biggest cat I have ever seen! Is she still fat? Or just all around big? What about Jackie?! We will need to find a substantially bigger apartment if we need to house two jungle cats . . .

unless andy has become exceptionally small.

Mostly, in this picture, she is just stretched out. I'll take a normal picture of the two of them when I get home. They may be a bit bigger, but it's hard for me to tell.

Also, we have rechristened Socrates as "Fat Cat." I don't think she's really that fat, just in comparision to Jackie. Andy and John may differ in their opinions.

there is a christmas party at my place in cola on the 20th. i don't know if you'll be able to come due to you getting back to the states so soon before that, but i am dropping the invite to you nonetheless in the selfish hopes that you might grace me with your presence so soon after your return.

I will gladly take you up on that (unless the parents throw a fit . . .). I'll need to start frequenting columbia to find a place to live so I'll probably be around. I don't know where you live but I'm sure this is easily enough fixed.
