Aspell can't

I find it infuriating that a project which has been around as long as this one still cannot recognise the most commonly used language in the world.

American is not English, and it is the second most common form of the language, not the first.

Grr.

That certainly implies that Aspell should handle British English. What does it get wrong?

Their most recent Win32 Binary doesn't ship an English dictionary that understands colonise and spelling.

"most recent" on the offical site appears to be from 2002! There is a EN add on that comes with British English: http://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/aspell/w32/Aspell-en-0.50-2-3.exe
