I must not put my fist through my laptop screen, however tempting it may be, for Canterbury's exchange fellating the foetid smeg from the underside of Hitler's dead and decaying foreskin is not the fault of my laptop ( Read more... )

My laptop's only just decided that it will utilise the broadband in the house - up an till about ten minutes ago, it refused to access the house wireless or the broadband. Perhaps this has something to do with the main house old computer now showing a black screen covered with dizzying lines. NEver seen that on a computer, only tv.

Alcohol, maybe? Oh big hugs. And I bet you're in the middle of something important. :( *waves spanner and something small and twisty that could intefere in computer's parts, at canterbury engineers* Bah! xxx

From what I could see, you were the only household having ADSL issues which suggests to me it's Pipex you need to kill, not the BT exchange.

Also, Pipex have just been brough by tiscali and their service is downgrading accordingly. I'd jump ship asap if I were you...

I thought you'd have installed Linux on your laptop as soon as you got it. I rolled back to XP after a week of using Vista. I refuse to touch it again until SP1 comes out and it's proven to improve stability and performance.

That settles it, I'm asking for XP on my new laptop. Chris said I had to decide... I've been trying to decide since November. Decided now I have..... and will force him to make necessary changes and add pop3 account to new laptop right this very weekend...

Use Linux. Seriously. As far as I can tell, there's nothing that you use that actually needs Windows.

The other alternative is to get a Mac, which is a lot more expensive.
