Robert Mugabe's been stripped of his knighthood! Looks like the old woman finally saw sense. :) Now, if only the bastard would keel over and did from a heart attack…

Indeed. Unfortunately most analysts seem to think he won't care. Or he'll use it in his anti-Western propaganda. The UN really needs to step in and deploy peacekeepers during the poll.

Why won't he just die? He must be die for a heart attack; his blood pressure must be through the roof.

He won't die. He'll regenerate. He's The Master.

You do realise of course, that this 'honour', in common with the *majority* of honours, is in reality given by the government, albeit in the monarch's name?

Very few honours are the personal gift of the monarch, and, on the grounds that the Queen is politically neutral (at least publically), she couldn't personally remove it in any event. The revocation came after a request/order from the Foreign office.

The KCB, which is what he had, is still the Monarch's to give and take, IIRC.

Ah, you're right. My apologies. :)

The British Sovereign is the Sovereign of the Order of the Bath. As with all honours except those in the Sovereign's personal gift,[53] the Sovereign makes all appointments to the Order on the advice of the Government.
