What idiot designed this DVD case? Honestly, who designed it? It's US patent No 5788068 (it would have to be, because no other country in the world would design a case you can't open and then shrink wrap it). I want to know who designed it, so I can stick the fucking security bar in their eye.

Umm... That red thing was supposed to be removed when the DVD was purchased. It's one of those annoying new security things. Does it make sense? Not really, except I suppose it's a way to help secure the thing without needing a larger case around it.

I had that happen to me once - security clip inside the shrink wrap. This was in the UK, btw. I now have a DVD case with lumps gouged out of it. If I could be bothered to get up and look (Sunday evening after a rather nice dinner with rather nice wine) I could tell you which one it is. This really is as stupid as it can get.

Yeah, apparently it's being trialled in Europe. I'm assuming they think it's a resounding success, since you can't get the fucking discs out without nearly destroying them. :/
