Star Trek

I love Star Trek. Not with an unholy passion. I've seen that, and it can be very intimidating. No, I love it with a sort of sweet, sentimental feeling that's all warm and squishy inside. One of my fondest memories I have of my family is my dad, brother, and I sitting down to watch the series premier of ST: TNG ( Read more... )

Depending on when you're able to make it, I would love to tag along.

Generally, I try to avoid opening weekend, but I might make an exception for Star Trek. It would depend on when you plan to go!

What time would work for you? I wouldn't mind going twice this weekend -- one immediately (the super crowded time), one at a more friendly time.

We've got DC Rollergirls this Saturday. And I believe you've got an Augusta game. So I am presuming Saturday is essentially out.

Off the top of my head, the times/dates I would consider include midnight show on Thursday. A day-time show on Friday (before 5). Sunday is iffy. I have a feeling most shows that day will be busy, but I'd consider it as an option.

I like to avoid opening weekends because my tolerance for crowds is low. But I also get annoyed by commercials and reviews that give away important scenes/plot points, so I try to see movies like this soon, so that I don't have spend my time with my finger hovering over the remote, or selectively reading articles to avoid spoilers. So, yeah, I'd like to see Star Trek soon, hopefully at a less crowded time.

You might luck out this Sunday, as it's Mother's day. Then again, there could be tons of moms who want to see this flick. Who knows?

I would do a midnight show on Thursday. Friday night or Sunday night would be good too. Saturday night is Roller Derby championship. :)
