It's a really odd feeling to be writing fiction again after three years away.  The fun parts are even better than I'd remembered; the challenge of scene construction, the special zing of crackling dialog, the chance to hear someone else inside my head who isn't me.  The frustration is just exactly as I remember, when the words on a page don't look

Hi, Campy. Hope all is well with you.

I'm writing fic, as it is about all I can manage right now (and barely this), but it's not XF. I'd like to get back to XF one day, but that would require more quiet than I can muster at the moment. (She says with her husband's video droning on in the background and her three-year old crawling under her legs.)

Mr. Campy died this past October, but I'm doing OK, I guess. Definitely could be doing BETTER, but it just takes time.

I'm so sorry to hear about Mr. Campy's passing. That is sad news indeed.

Thanks for the invitation for AO3; it's a lovely corner of the internet, and I have poked around in it a few times. However, my tiny old fandom doesn't live there, and I don't feel the need to blaze a trail. ;-)
