something i learned quite recently :

sometimes doing the wrong thing helps you realize what the right thing actually is. Or so this rule works with some things. i realize there are things, from time to time, that feel so right and end up being so wrong. though i've never regret making a mistake, really. not all of the dominos in the domino effect of life are easy and painless. many ( Read more... )

i guess that's where you get, 'you learn from your mistakes' , eh?

i was thinking more along the lines of "mistakes" leading to good things. which seems to happen to me more often than not. or maybe i'm just an optimist and choose to view things in such a matter.
but learning from mistakes is just as relevant. :)

I always pause when I hear people say that they live their lives without any regret. Usually, I first think of this as a disturbing perspective, but then I realize that its more just a way of looking at the word and meaning under a different light. The disturbing part for me is that it could seem like a person who lives a life without regret will never recognize or learn from a mistake that was made. Inevitably there are unfortunate things that are going to happen and you can't deny them out of existence by pretending that you're all cool about it. But the realization that I consider after is that, mostly it seems when someone is saying this they are just trying to explain that they don't believe in getting hung up on the negative things that have happened and forever feeling bad about them. Which is a good thing and just a different way of intrepeting the word ( ... )

i think it is a wording thing.. or moreso a perspective.
i'm basically extremely optimistic with my perspective when it comes to "mistakes". i've never made a mistake that didn't turn into something favorable, or create something good.. or leave a window wide open for me. everything you do leads you to where you are.. and when you're comfortable with where you are, it's difficult to regret anything. quite simply. :)
and there's the dwelling thing that i just can't stand. a little bit of dwelling is only natural, but i can't fucking stand those people who dwell constantly after making a mistake. pick up and move on. it's about making lemonade from lemons, or something. heh.
life's too damn short not to at least try to make the best of things.
so, yeah.

i sidestep when i can, though sometimes i don't have the discipline to do so. heh.

the wrong thing? i'll tell you later what inspired me to write this entry. though it's really about the life in general.
