I somehow missed the first part of this, which is odd, because I generally read anything you write. :) At any rate, I've now read both parts and hope you write more. I sometimes avoid AU's, for whatever reason, but you've given me hope that good ones exist - your characterization is spot on, and the dynamic between Battousai and Kaoru is different than that which exists between older Kenshin and Kaoru, but in a very believable and familiar way, if that makes any sense. This is very enjoyable. Will Tomoe play a part in this? I do realize that it's an AU, and if she doesn't, that's totally reasonable, but I just wondered.
