*grabs a tissue...* the way you wrote what happened in the last episode, made me cry... I still can't watch that episode. Gabrielle's pain felt so real...
You're doing a wonderful job with this story! I love this story!

o noes Sapph! *hold tissue box firmly* I'm glad I moved you, but sorry 'bout the tears.

I still struggle to watch FIN too. I have to be in the right mindset, because I know half of it will leave me exhilarated, and the rest will swing me between grumpy and downright heartbroken. FIN and I have a love/hate relationship ;)

Thank you so much for your praise and feedback. You rawk.

Thank you, m'dear - and I will. While it makes it more lovely that other people are enjoying what I'm writing, I can tell you honestly: I couldn't stop if I tried :)

bloody hell. this is so powerful. tears in my eyes. i can feel that after FIN Gabrielle felt lost and empty. but our sidekick is a firecracker and this rage feels very real and true. can't wait for the next bit, even if it might be painful to read.

Wow. Your feedback - I had to read it a few times, for pure indulgence. Thank you so much. I love your immediate reaction and impression of what I've written.

I do hope the next part isn't too painful for any of us (although I know it has that probibility and I'm steeling myself against it), but I'm happy to reach your feely parts and really grateful for your responses.

So thank you.

"You don’t join up with Xena and just go along for the ride . . "

Love this line. How true. Great job with the angst! I remember watching FIN and being angry at so many things: that they killed off Xena, that they made it be Xena's choice, that they didn't even make it emotional so we could grieve, that Gabrielle seemed so okay about it!!! Oh, dear. Here I am getting all riled up about it all over again.

Thanks for this, dearie.

Ah, my sweet lady of the cloth.

My anger meets your anger and has anger!babies. Never worry about getting riled up over that here - you are among very good and like-minded company.

Sometimes people laugh at me for the way I remain wrapped up in Xena and the hurt/anger I still harbour for the ending. To them, I say *pfffbbt*.

And then I curl up with One Against An Army and pet myself a little. "There there..."

Thank you, for all you do.

I often think of watching the Xena DVDs all over again, but then I reject the idea. Too many memories, too much sorrow, on so many levels. But "One Against an Army"! A classic "subtext" episode! "And I want to be just like you." Sniff.

Best,

I understand entirely. And the emotions are often far from being about the show, as much as what it represents, or what it did represent in the past. I have my odd moments while watching an episode where I have to walk away and it has nothing to do with what's on the screen.

But yeah, One Against An Army. The most perfect embodiment of everything the show was/should have been. And some of the best TV writing / acting I've ever seen. That's how they should have ended everything. Shame they strayed so far

Here is the part where we finally get to see some actual grieving, which while not happy or fun, is more realistic than sailing off into the sunset with the ghost of your soulmate hovering around.

Thanks Sporty - and snap! on your thinking, coz they're my thoughts too. I know the writers were trying to say to us "Even though Xena's gone now, she lives on in spirit for all of you, and you can be warriors too! Yay female empowerment!" - it was *coughbullshitcough*.

Glad it's working for you, m'dear.
