Personality:Aurica is a sweet and loving girl. But because of her past, she comes off as upset and can beat herself up constantly. I guess one would call this 'emo' in our terms. She'll usually explain her lack of self-worth saying it's because she's a "Class-D Reyvateil". One might thing it's a crutch for her to lean on, but with her traumatic past and events in the church, being compared the other Reyvateils, she's really couldn't much.
Background: Aurica is both human and a Reyvateil. But because she's not exactly all Reyvateil, she is classified as a Class-D Reyvateil. This means, she's not great to have in battle, but she's not completely useless. Aurica lived in Skuwat Village and was living their peacefully. Until an organization by the name of Tenba invaded her villiage. This was because the Teru tribe attack Tenba while they were stationed within the confines of the villiage. Thus, in reaction, Tenba engages in battle as anyone in war would do, thus destroying Skuwat Village. During this time, she was separated from her parents. Even though she never really knows what became of them, the only information was told was that they went missing and they died. An explaination for that? Hm, no. This because such great tramua for the girl that she supressed any true outward happiness. And it's probably part of the reason why she distances herself from people. After some time, she joins the Church of Elemnia and works as a Reyvateil. As a child, she was told the story of the three Holy Maidens. And with working with the church, she aspired to be one of them.
She meets up with Lyner and his entourage in the church at a point in the game. She decides... or more so, the church sends her off to accompany him on his journey, even though she feels inclined not to do much considering she was told that her worth was nothing. She becomes close with Lyner (he's the 'I'll be nice to everyone but not notice anyone feelings, but say all the things they want to hear') and thus believing in herself. In her confidence, she's able to open up and become like the old her: joyful and cheery. This is the side that her childhood friend, Claire, wishes to see in Aurica once more.
