Interesting that they made a new class ... When I was trained in Fire Fighting, they lumped greese fires in with Deltas. The prefered meathod for extinguising was Purple K AND water. The 2 mixed together and formed a HARD crust on top of the oil .... The training for this was ... lots of fun .... As for Charlies ... yes, shut off the breaker!!! Don't touch a hot power cord, turn it off at the box ... Unless you are dealing with electric cable coming from a nuclear generator ... Then low velocity fog with a minimum distance of 25 feet. (Hint, there is no circut breaker between a nuclear generator and the first massive cable, and you can't just shut off the nuclear reactor

There's a really good example of that on the Discovery Channel's show, Destroyed in Seconds. Some sort of oil containment unit is on fire and the fire department is trying to put it out with hoses. But the fire is so intense the heat of the fire is turning into steam, which eventually causes a huge explosion. I think they said that people up to 300 feet away had 2nd and 3rd degree burns from the steam.
