New toys

Last week I got an iPod Touch. In retrospect I should have gotten the 16GB one, but instead I stuck with the 8GB model. So far I am liking it very much.

The user interface and responsiveness of the touch screen is impressive. I'm not yet very competent with the screen keyboard; I don't know if that will get better or not. The auto-correct helps me ( Read more... )

heh it was like christmas when I discovered I could sync contacts and calendars between my new phone and computer. yay for nerdy new toys!

The auto-complete gets better over time -- it learns what you mean by a particular typo when you fix it and then preferentially suggests words it knows you use a lot.

That's good to know, although I haven't "trained" it enough to notice this effect quite yet, I don't think.

Hopefully it's better than my Windows Mobile phone, which after a fair amount of use would, whenever I typed M-O- would always suggest three things including "MORE FUCKABLE THAN" ... I have no idea how it wound up with that. It must train itself on all the text it displays in addition to what I type, or something.
