It's practically a new phone

Despite my WM6 smartphone seeming less and less shiny since I got an iPod Touch and am using it for almost everything except actually making phone calls, I was poking around on the net for news about it last night, and was horrified to discover that there have been major software and feature upgrades available for over six months now.

I think I had my new smartphone about 2 weeks before I actually made a call with it. I will have to look into these upgrades. I wonder if I have GPS too. That would be super.

Yeah, I'm seriously thinking about whether I want to trade this thing in for a cheaper, dumber, plain old phone, since my iPod Touch gets used for nearly everything. The hitch is that obviously the iPod is only good when I can use a WiFi network. That's increasingly common, but far from universal.

There's also the iPhone, but I'm not liking either the battery situation with it, nor the cost of the plans.
