Yee Haw
I finally saw Brokeback Mountain a few days ago. By gum!
Thoughts:
That movie was so depressing. Yet so beautiful. But it brought me pain! My friend was crying beside me throughout the ending and I was like *swallows tears*. I can't believe on their last meeting together, they were fighting. Why did Jack have to die? It's so unfair. And he kept saying that Ennis should've come to live with him/near him but Ennis was all reluctant. I suppose if Jack did, in fact, die because some guys beat him to death then Ennis would be dead too if he were living there. It's a very heartbreaking movie... especially when Jack was like "We could've had a life together. I real good one" and when Ennis went to Jack's parent's house and found his shirt. I was just about all the way broken at that scene. And the very end scene when you see Jack's shirt in his closet and the postcard pinned beside it, I was like "...fuckfuck, must not cry".
I also really loved that scene where Ennis was talking on the phone with Jack's wife and they're both trying not to cry... Eeep.
AND when Ennis' wife sees them making out beside the house and he goes in and acts casual and is like "Y'know... we're going dinking and we might not get back tonight. You know how I get when I'm drinking..." and shit like that. Then the next day he's like "Y'know... Me and Jack are going to go fishing for a few days... so, bye" and she TOTALLY KNOWS THE WHOLE TIME. It is SO obvious to her and I couldn't help but laugh.
When she finally reveals to him that she knows... that scene was INTENSE. I was like sitting in my seat, eyes wide and mouth agog.
