Tom, you rock. You are a pain in the ass and you know it, but still. . . you are our entire 1st trumpet section. Justin sucks when you're gone, who really gives a crap about Seth (like you said, seth is just there). I voted for you for that award, because even though jazz band didn't go the greatest, I would consider you more of a leader than any other senior in band. Being outspoken is both a great thing and a pain. I respect you and your being a pain. You're not scared of what results may come your way. You just do what you want and if it's not good enough, then screw it. Like i said before, you rock.

Hey, I know you're deserving (I'm your flippin' sister), but I think your attitude rubs people the wrong way and that is a barrier for you. I love that you are unafraid of expressing your opinions and never waffle under pressure. Unfortunately, that is an abrasive characteristic to people who refuse to understand your position. People don't like abrasiveness because it makes them chafe. In their lady-parts. Eventually that characteristic will be an asset. The world is shaped by people unafraid to express their opinions

What she said. Except for the ostrich eggs and hacksaw part.
I think the whole goal of high school is to make exceptional children dumb themselves down so that the world, embracing of mediocrity as it generally is, doesn't have to have someone it fears loose in its workforce.
All the same, when you land your first professional job playin' jazz in Chicago or Memphis or NYC and you're the toast of the town and all the music critics use words like "moving" or "incredible" to describe your work (mind you I haven't heard you play, but if you've got any media of yourself to shoot my way...)...then you'll send an email to your high school teacher saying "thanks for nothing" and feel on top of the world.
...you're unbelievable

Hm...the Sousa award...the band votes for the winner...obviously a popularity contest which is why you wouldn't have won. Semper Fidelis Award was for choir and band. Justin probably got it more for choir than band because choir he's pretty much outstanding and in band...well...atleast he never abandoned his jazz band and his small group...so basically Justin's not a selfish egotistical asshole. Is that what a leader is? An asshole who quits his groups letting everyone down? Someone who has temper tantrums instead of encouraging others to actual make things better? Tom do you ever offer to work with other people to work out problems? No, you bitch and then quit. That's no leader. That's pathetic.

I must not have heard the choir part for semper fidelis. So big deal, I'm outstanding in band whether you like it or not, and I'm just as good in choir as Justin is in band, so we're still back to square 1.
I didn't let down the jazz band, it fucking let me down, it let ITSELF DOWN. I was NOT going to go onstage with a band and that was going to make a fucking FOOL of itself playing Jazz Police. And when exactly did I have a temper tantrum?
Why should I sacrafice sleep for selfish dipshits that are only there to FUCK AROUND and drool over a half assed guitar player who could BARELY play the intro. I'm not about to waste my time. And that is what jazz band was, a waste of time.
i agree. those are my favorite kind of comments, the one's with no name. They may have said what they think but it makes no difference because they don't have the courage to connect their name with the statement.
I meant to put Trumpet 1.... I was like, 5th... Like omg. Like totally.
OH BY THE WAY... The lead trumpet player, yes, 1st trumpet, routinely came up to me and told me "I hope you're ready to play man, cuz we'd suck without you." His name is Kevin Tholen, he goes to A.L. He'll willingly admit what he said. Ask the 2nd trumpet player, Wismont, he'll tell you how awesomely I did too.

because i like you..but i can't TOLERATE you. which isn't even logical..but GOD. i can't stand to see you do some of the things you do. it's your life, yes. but you've fucked up a lot of stuff already. do you want to continue to do so? if your attitude doesn't change, you will.
i have no problem with your thoughts.
your decisions blow.
in conclusion....i've nothing to get over. you're still the one that needs to get over it.
