I am so horribly stuck.
I have no idea what to do this year.
I'm enrolled in a degree that will be cut at the end of the year.

You'd be into your second year of that degree this year wouldn't you? That's awful (assfull), I've never heard of anything like that around here before, just MORE papers being added based on the money that English for foriegners brings in for Unis... if it's a BA you should be able to cross-credit, plus you'd be in a special circunmstance, to change over too any other stream you wanted but that's if you narrow it down or want too...

You know all that anyway, hope something works out.

A friend of mine is looking for a flatmate. The place is on Durham St (uphill from Aro St), flatting with (I think) four others, and the room's $50pw.

Pluses: The view is fantastic, and the flatmates are great. Cheap and really close to town and uni. And they have a cat.

Minuses: The roof is quite low (it's an attic room) and access is via a stepladder from the lounge, so getting furniture up there might be a problem.
