Sophie stood at the bus stop, foot tapping, anxious for Sian’s bus to pull in. It was due in 5 *checks watch* no, make that 3 minutes now. Sophie took a breath. She couldn’t remember ever having been this nervous. What if Sian turned up and realised she’d made a huge mistake? What if she told Sophie that she just wanted to be friends?
Sophie’s heart clenched at the thought.
Just as the butterflies in Sophie’s stomach became almost too much to bear, she saw the bus round the corner Sian fidgeted on her seat, eyes fastened on the street outside, waiting for Sophie to come into view. She hadn’t seen the other girl since the two had kissed last weekend and in all honesty she was a bit nervous. Ok, make that incredibly nervous. She and Sophie had been calling and texting nonstop, but in person...that was a whole other kettle of fish right? What if...
Sian’s trail of thought was shut down the instant the bus pulled into the street and she saw Sophie. A grin crept onto her face which she knew was as huge as that of the other girl staring back at her. Sian was up and out of her seat before the bus had even stopped, throwing herself into the arms of Sophie as soon as the driver opened the doors. Feeling the other girls arms wrapped tightly around her was enough for Sian to know that, regardless of those things they still had to sort out, everything would be ok.
The two girls returned to Sophie’s house. Both Rosie and Sophie’s dad were out, meaning the girls had the house to themselves for the next couple of hours. They were currently sitting on the couch in the living room, neither girl sure how to break the silence that was now beginning to border of uncomfortable. Eventually Sian nudged Sophie’s shoulder.
‘Soph, this is stupid. Why are we so uncomfortable? We’ve know each other how long?’ The other girl chuckled and nudged her back. ‘It’s not that, I just...well, I wasn’t sure how comfortable you were with everything and I didn’t want to overstep my bounds and...’ Sian silenced her with a kiss. When they broke apart, Sian raised an eyebrow at Sophie, smirking.
‘I need to stop worrying, yeah?’ Sophie asked with small laugh.
‘Something like that yeah,’ Sian grinned seductively at Sophie, crooking her finger at her, ‘now c’mere you.’
Eventually Sophie broke away from the kiss and snuggled against Sian, who wrapped her arm around her, placing her chin on Sophie’s head.
‘I’ve missed you so much Soph’ she said quietly, kissing the top of her head. Sophie shifted her position slightly so that she could look into the other girl’s eyes. Seeing the adoration blazing in them, she smiled,
'I’ve missed you too.'
