Just so you know

I don't know if I'll continue to post here, but today I just feel like it so here goes the "What I've been doing" post.

About 3 months after my last post I changed jobs. I now work for T&W Operations as a Software Engineer under turbopunk. It's nice to be back in a technical field, even if the subject matter isn't quite in my range of interest. I work with ( Read more... )

I'm sorry about your breakup, but it sounds like you are both handling it rather well. I'm glad you've got a good friend to help you through, too.

I hope you continue to like your new job, and that it goes well for you.

For what it's worth, I've missed your presence here, and I'm happy to see your posts.

Take good care.

I've been good!

It has been a long time, hasn't it? We moved to Atlanta last spring. We still visit Huntsville about every 6-7 weeks. We try to do dinner or something at La Alameda when we're there so we can see our friends and be social. :) You should keep an eye on LJ so you know when we'll be doing it again.

Or email me your phone number and I'll text you!

kind of a mixed bag there. its horrible when long-term relationships end, no matter why. i admire anyone who can make them work at all. it seems so few people can last more than 6 months without utter and total failure on some level or other. at least you can say you're confident and secure enough to maintain a relationship. love lost is not something to regret because as they say "it is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all". that's so completely true, despite how one might feel after the fact ( ... )

it's good to hear from you again. I didn't really expect you to reply. It was a nice surprise ( ... )

what end of the h'ville area do you work at? i'm on the far southside but we could probably do lunch some time? i have the next 10 days off (after tomorrow anyway) we could probably hang out then too? we (me and Jon) got an akira kurosawa film from netflix today too, called hidden fortress. you might like it.

anyway.. i apologize for not being in better contact with you. at some point i had to choose and i guess i had to choose "chicks before.. " well you know. i guess there really isn't an excuse for that. the drama got so thick for a while i couldn't stand it any more. i never forgot about you tho. never thought any less of you. cross my heart.

I live/work near the Wynn and University intersection. I'd love to do lunch just about anytime you'd like. We just take lunch at whatever time we want so i can be pretty flexible. Hidden Fortress is fucking awesome. Definately one of my favorite Kurosawa flicks.

I understand the chix > dix thing. And I totally understand why you did it. I gave you every reason to. I was unaware that you didn't think less of me though. i thought i was pretty high on your "omfg, motherfucker" list.

I never forgot you either. In fact, i've rather missed you.

Such calm words for such emotional content. The ends hurt, a lot.

Perhaps the end is the beginning. That's the thought that's keeping me in one piece right now, anyway.

How have you been?

Every end is a beginning, but that first step is always a doozy.
Me? Mostly holding my knee I hit tripping over that first step. Things are starting to look up as of today tho. Odd that a cloudy day has been my brightest in a long while.

here's hoping things continue to look up. Wasn't there some sort of phrase involving clouds and silver linings?

I do C# where I work too, I love it, it's like coding in easy mode. Yeah, maybe it makes me a sellout, but laziness trumps respect any day.

actually, i really enjoy c# and the framework in general. It makes fun-project coding a lot easier and enjoyable. You don't have to worry about the low level stuff like memory management. But when i want to sit down and write something epic that has to run super fast like image generators and simulators, i need much more control. What I really hate is losing the time to keep my C++ skills up to date because I'm constantly coding in C#.
