That's been my understanding for a while. I know of both sides of threats, but the law has been pretty clear to everyone. At least in the valley.

I always thought it a dick move to ask people to consent to that. Like I'd want to consent to leaving my career if I had to quit. I'm glad it got shot down here.

That doesn't make any sense to me. If they don't value you enough to pay you more, why should you be so valuable that going to the competition would be the end of the world?

I have no idea. I had to sign one at Aveda saying I wouldn't work within the industry for 18 months.
