I tend to be pretty critical of Israel. IMHO they have a ends-justify-the-means mentality that they regularly abuse. Combine that with the constant support of big brother USA and it's an ugly situation. Personally, I think the US should back the hell off and leave them out to dry. I expect their behavior would be a lot more conciliatory if they were on their own.
This was one of the US behaviors that inspired me to move to NZ by the way. The constant yammering about Saddam being evil, while ignoring all the Israeli UNSec violations was a few steps too far past the limits of reason for me.
I'm not deleting this because it's a) calm and reasoned, and b) on topic. I just happen to disagree, which is fine and normal.
As you've also posted this response in your journal, I'll be responding over there, rather than attempting to conduct a parallel discourse in two journals concurrently (which would ultimately scramble my inadequate brain cells something horrible).
You may not have picked up on it, but I'm actually an Australian - born in The Alice, no less!
However, I have now lived longer in NZ than Australia, with half my kids and 5/6 of my grandkids born in NZ, I guess you could be forgiven for thinking I'm a kiwi...
I just happen to think that all those kiwi's heading for Australia (mostly Sydney) are nuts for leaving the best place on earth...
