I had a house cow (Mae West) a few years ago who would give 10L twice a day. She is almost single-handedly responsible for my grip strength and forearm muscles.

And you can keep a cow on an acre if you are careful. How many households would Mae West have supported you reckon?

If they went through milk the way we used to, and the way Toodles' crowd does these days, probably two or three households.

For more "normal" households, probably 5 or 6 - for variable definitions of "normal"...

Of course, YMMV applies...

For me, Mae West supported a household of three adults, 10 calves being handfed, and one very large pig.

Possibly a premium for the fact that milk goes off?

Petrol's always been relatively cheap, despite concerns as it rose it cost... I mean, bottled water often costs more!
