Anzac Day approaches

As Anzac Day (April 25th for you foreigners) rolls around, my mind wanders back to a play I saw in Adelaide around about the time I married $WIFE. Inspired now to find it and read it, how did I ever miss it? Imagine, you was begat in an effort to thwart the Japs. Cool! Did your pa consider himself lucky or unfortunate to have left his unit behind?

I think he considered himself lucky, but it wasn't something he was wont to talk of often. There was another guy who survived by dint of being invalided out like Dad, but I never found out who he was. Dad sometimes grumbled that he had lent him his uniform and never got it back.

Strange, now you mention it, that 3 of my last 6 vehicles have been Japanese designed and built...
