"munching on a slice of cake" - what sort of cake was it, please...?

Victoria Sandwich cake, courtesy of Marks and Spencer's.

My TV is so old I cannot receive ceefax on't (Madeleine cake moment: Johnny Nevada says 'It was so hot in Central City today I saw the Flash chasing the Mirror Master - and they were both walking.' - I think the issue of Action Comics with the TV and the bullet on the cover, possibly No. 437).
