Today I went to the Isaak Walton League indoor range and shot my bow. Been practicing quite a bit, actually. I am a novice, but I am told I do quite well for a beginner.
I went shooting a few years ago to gain more wisdom on what I thought of guns, because I had a fear of them. I ended up being quite a good shot, and it was a whole lotta fun!
Yes, not that I am a big fan of guns or anything, but I have fired a few and I find target shooting to be enjoyable. I shot an sks semi auto assault rifle once with a scope on it, that was pretty amazing actually - pegged a pop can from 100 yards.. didnt hit anything else though in 7 shots.
saw your post on the archery thread, and i had to check this out. And the SKS is not a "gun," it is a assault weapon. (I have no problem with guns, but i do with assault weapons and such) now, for some real fun, try some target guns. theres nothing like putting 15 rounds into a hole the size of a quarter from 100 metres.
planning on getting into tournement shooting at all in the future?
Thanks for stopping in - 15 rounds into the size of a quarter from 100 meters sounds seriously skilled!
As for tournament shooting - I definately would like to, but I want to get better first, since I am just starting out. I have some very basic sights on my bow, and most of the guys shooting league or tournament have some very nice sights.
