Oh man, I used to be into anime. Like, a lot, even though I was kind of embarrassed about it because most people that like anime are totally obnoxious/should be prevented from reproducing. But after middle school I didn't want to take Spanish anymore, so I switched to Japanese (also because I heard that it didn't have irregular verbs, which is awesome). And then I got a scholarship when I was 15 to go there for the summer and the rest is history,
These days I'm not anti-anime by any means, but I just got tired of the all the cliches and that rendered a lot of it totally uninteresting and I eventually stopped keeping track at all. I still can consume an entire series in a single sitting if it's really good, but I don't invest in it on my own anymore.
Haha, it's a funny question. Designing videogames, at least the parts that I would enjoy designing, is a job performed by a few people who are way high up in the industry. It is very rare that the new people in the industry ever see their video game ideas come to life, they just crunch out code or map out exploding box placements and horse ass textures. And apparantly the working conditions are really ridiculously bad, at least for some companies (EA comes to mind). It's just what I've heard.
Would it be fun to be the new Miyamoto? God yes! But the odds of getting my hands that deep into it are really slim to none, so I'll be content to be on the consuming end of videogames, apart from small projects over which I have complete creative control :)
Oh dear. Well, I'd decided I wasn't all too sure I wanted to be in materials science anymore, it wasn't what I'd wanted it to be anyway. And I didn't know what I did want to do anymore, and didn't want to waste my parents' money on a degree I didn't want/trying to figure out what I did want
