Arthur’s past is secretive and nearly impossible to figure out. In part it’s because he was not registered in Hogwarts or any other magic school from Europe,in part because Arthur keep it as a secret. He speaks French, Japanese, English and 5 other languages. The mix makes it difficult to say where he is from because he doesn’t have a British accent. He never confirms or denies anything, simply choosing not to talk about himself at all, but it’s hinted that he knew Eames before the metamorphmagus joined the school.
There’s no records about his parents either, it’s impossible to say if they were or not purebloods, muggles, aurors, death eaters or some kind of magical creature.
Arthur showed up at Hogwarts when he 22 years old, asking Dumbledore to accept him as the Transfiguration teacher. The rumors say that he was offered a job as an Auror that he refused to take; and that he was called by the Goblins of the Gringotts Wizarding Bank when they needed a Curse Breaker.
He seems to know everything and everybody in the school, but he rarely mentions anything about people’s shenanigans. He’s as good at protective spells as he is at attacking ones but his specialty is, of course, transfiguration spells. Albeit serious, he’s really fond and protective of his students. Emphasis on protective.
Like Professor Minerva McGonagal, he is also an Animagus, taking the form of a Siamese cat.
