I've come to the realization that I miss the art of learning and putting new things into my brain.  I think in January I'll try taking a course or two at the community college here in Portland.  Mostly I figure that I'll take human anatomy and Statics... the two classes that I still need to fulfil the pre-requisites to get into 90% of Social Work ( Read more... )

This is random--I know.  But what's the point of the phrase, "rain down"?  It's not like rain would go up.  I guess rain can go somewhat sideways, but not completely because it still comes down to the ground.  I was just thinking of that as I was looking out the window watching rain droplets cover everything in wetness.

Good news everyone, I have officially moved into my apartment and am 99% unpacked and set up.  Barb and I just have to make a run to goodwill for some added furnitureand we will be good to go.  The apartment it a little empty and so there is a slight echo, but it's all good.  I think that once we get a little income we will swankify the apartment a ( Read more... )

I have a job when I move to Portland!  I'm so very very happy.   I got a call from the Starbucks District Manager and she told me that I would be working at the Forest Heights location.   Not quite as close as I'd like to be to Beaverton, but still not all that far from where I might live.  I think I'll have to invest in a cheap bike when I get out ( Read more... )

Today was my last day of work at Shelby Starbucks #2480.  I  now get to spend 3.5 days up at the cottage with my mom for a little relaxation after a long week at work, and then it is packing time.  I am not looking forward to unpacking my stuff from my apartment just to repack everything in fewer boxes so the necessities can fit in my car.  I also ( Read more... )
