Well, my dad just plopped a book down in front of me today, and told me, "I want you and your sister to read this." The cover was a vibrant red, and I was like, "Woah! Tone down the color, please!" After I got over the random color shock, I scanned its cover and its title is A Teenage Rebellion Against Low Expectations: Do Hard Things.
It has a

And as for the book....hrmrmrmr...I don't know. I hope you like it, or learn something from it (even if you don't like it).
I'm just iffy on it because 1) I don't like Chuck Norris and 2) I'm atheist, so I don't think I'm the audience the book sets out for. XD

Yeah, there were reviews commenting on how some people's religions differ and stuff and how they didn't like that it was written with a very, very specific group in mind. But, it doesn't really seem like it was, even with the fact that God has been mentioned a couple times. Well, I guess another thing is that the two authors are the writers for one of the most popular blogs for Christian teens. The authors also mentioned, however, that the blog was mainly a sort of thing for them to get their thoughts out, and they were really surprised to know it was getting so many visitors! xD
One of the most popular reviews for the book, though, (THE most popular...?) was titled, "Not a "Christian"? Read THIS review". While the person that wrote the review is a Roman Catholic, they still get their point across ( ... )

I have an aunt and uncle who gave me a book called "What Darwin Didn't Know" when I was in college, and my knee-jerk reaction was, "This is because I'm a Biology major, huh?" I don't think I ever read it, but I'm sure they didn't mean to be preachy in any way. (They both work for a Christian book publishing company, so maybe it was just a convenient purchase.)
Maybe the book will be inspirational or at least amusing some of the time? I'm still cringing at "rebelution..." DX I like combining words, but that one's too close to a typo for comfort!
Random Information (Because I'm Full of The Stuff):
My maternal grandfather's sister's step-granddaughter is married to Chuck Norris. They got a wedding announcement and I think an invitation, but they couldn't or didn't go. (I've never met him in person, but we joke that we should show up someday and be all, "Hi ( ... )

I have no idea how a person could get preachy about Darwin's work, really. I mean, evolution has been proven over and over again. I don't understand why people say that Catholics can't believe in evolution. I know about the whole Adam and Eve reading (I'm a Catholic, too. :P), but there was this one thing that I read that said something along the lines of, "The writers of the Bible weren't scientists. They were philosophers. Not everything in the Bible is scientifically accurate." -raises hand- Agreed.
Unfortunately, I haven't finished the book yet (I got sidetracked by studying and a book for fun reading that I checked out of the school library. ^^"), but I have definitely read some really cool stories in Do Hard ( ... )
